POND
Announce UK / EU Autumn 2019 tour dates
New album Tasmania out now via Marathon Artists
Australian adventurers POND announce a run of UK and European tour dates across October and November 2019, concluding at London’s iconic Electric Brixton. Having already been confirmed for Primavera Sound, Oya Festival and more this summer, the band return to Europe for their own run of headline dates later in the year. A full list of dates can be found below, tickets are on sale now.
POND released their critically acclaimed eighth studio album Tasmania via Marathon Artists on March 1st. A dejected meditation on planetary discord, Tasmania further progresses the wildly diverse sonic pallet of POND’s distinguished catalogue.
Tasmania received incredible acclaim, with Uncut choosing it as their Album of the Month saying “Allbrook, much like Bradford Cox or even Bowie, has a knack for conveying the beauty and madness of the human condition in his lyrics and performance” and labeling it “POND’s slickest effort so far”. In their 4* review Q said “Nick Allbrook’s rapier-sharp lyrics ensure that they still have their own livewire personality” while NME called it “ridiculously ambitious” in another 4* review.
Tasmania follows the release of 2017’s acclaimed record The Weather. A defining statement for POND, the rapturously received The Weather was a fearless and intriguing document which laid the blueprint for the kaleidoscopic array ideas exhibited on Tasmania. Since the release of The Weather, POND have toured the globe extensively, performing their biggest headline shows of their career thus far.
